This painting is one of my favorites from my new series of work exploring the ties between abstraction and realism. I see it as a “bridge piece” between my old style and a new one that feels much more “me”. I love how the composition gently cascades down, hence its name “Cascading Peony Abstraction”. It both reveals and implies form, while simultaneously suggesting movement.

Like watching a flower bloom right before your eyes.
